Steven Thrasher, a writer based in Brooklyn, was named Journalist of the Year 2012 by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association for his investigative feature writing in the New York Times, Village Voice and Out magazine. He spent a year traveling America for the NPR StoryCorp project, and his radio work has been heard on Morning Edition, All Things Considered and Marketplace. He is currently on a world tour from Central Asia to Western Europe, exploring spiritual traditions from the Himalayas to the Alps.
